The Hubble Telescope advanced our knowledge of space in amazing and unexpected ways, and in four years, its successor promises to do the same, and more.
The James Webb Space Telescope, with its 18 gigantic mirror segments, is so powerful that the astrophysicists who developed it aren’t even sure what it will be capable of.
It has 100 times the capability of Hubble, which means we’ll be able to see the formation of the very first stars and galaxies after the Big Bang. If that doesn’t sound cool enough for you, here’s Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime, introducing the telescope.
